Privacy Policy
In effect during the open beta. This is a translation; if it differs from the Spanish version, the Spanish version prevails.
What data we collect
- Your email address.
- Your password, always stored hashed — never in plain text.
- The post descriptions you send to generate captions.
- Your generation history (including any translations you request) and the captions you mark as saved.
- Your credit balance and credit activity.
- If you create API keys, we store them hashed: you only see the full key once, when it is created.
- Aggregated site usage data (pages visited, device type, approximate country) measured with Google Analytics.
What we use your data for
- Providing the service: generating, translating and saving your captions.
- Keeping your account's credit balance and usage-based billing, including the API.
- Understanding, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.
- Sending you password-reset emails.
We don't use your data for advertising or for anything unrelated to running the service.
Third parties involved
- Groq: processes the text you send to generate (and, if requested, translate) captions.
- Resend: sends password-reset emails.
- Google Analytics (Google): measures aggregated site usage using cookies. More in how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
We share only the minimum these providers need for the service to work. We don't sell your data to third parties.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all its data by writing to [email protected].
Cookies and tracking
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure, in aggregate, how the site is used (for example, which pages are visited and from what kind of device). Google Analytics sets its own cookies in your browser (those starting with _ga). We don't use that information for advertising or combine it with the content of your captions. You can read how Google uses this data and turn measurement off with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser.
If you pick a language with the ES/EN switcher, we store that preference in a first-party cookie (NEXT_LOCALE, 1 year) so the site opens in that language.
When you log in we also store an authentication token in your browser's local storage (localStorage) to keep you signed in. It is removed when you log out.
